Dramatic SFB: Helping with battles

As always I would be happy to help with battles if anyone is feeling overwhelmed but understand if no one wants me to. I will generally attempt to win whatever scenario I play at the minimum tactical cost. If you are interested be prepared to talk with me first about the following:

1) What are your goals for the scenario? - They are usually meet victory conditions but it might be important to kill or cripple particular enemy ships for later exploitation on the strategic stage. I need to know that. Sometimes it's worth it in a strategic or net BPV sense to destroy an enemy ship than to win the scenario but that depends in part on what you intend to do in future turns.

2) What costs are you willing to pay? - You should always try to pay no cost to win but sometimes that isn't possible. When you do have to pay what do you pay with - small ships destroyed? Larger ships crippled? Are certain ships less expendable than others despite their size/bpv? How much of the fleet should be put in danger in order to win the scenario? What level of danger are we talking?

3) I won't help in battles with people who I share direct borders with. Not likely to come up but it helps avoid conflicts of interest.

4) Do you have a preferred style of combat? My style is to maneuver and wear the opponent down, watch for mistakes to capitalize on and avoid doing the same myself. It's perfect for Klingon saber dancers and people who don't roll dice well. It also (alas) gives both sides more opportunities to get away once the mistakes have been made. That isn't the right strategy to use with a carrier group or Federation torpedo-heavy group so I wouldn't use it there but I also wouldn't use it if I needed the enemy ships to die en masse. In such cases you need a more direct approach. Be prepared to talk about a style.

I finished up my Plat Hat games (Grim caught me after only 9 turns thanks to one set of damage rolls and one client-error driven drone launch...oh and 90 points of plasma...and excellent play for a solid 9 turns) and I don't have any battles this turn so I'm open.
