The Neo-vs-Archeo battle is underway. Turn #1 is in the books, and boy
have they been pressing hard on the pencils in frustration....
The Neo Cruiser and Neo Light Cruiser started at range 22 and
immediately began angling towards the base at an ambling speed. The
defenses began erecting a globular web around the base or simply waited
for things to develop.
Seeing the defenders being busy beavers, the Neos threw up a web between
the two groups in a fashion to prevent the formation of more web. Just
inside sensor range, the Archeos began to fill subspace with the buzz of
Offensive EW.
A few movement later, the cast web collapsed and the Defenders inched
closer to completing the circle. The Neos then turned oblique to the
base so they wouldn't hit overload range. The Neos threw their weight
of Particle Cannons at the scout, hitting slightly above average but not
doing much damage and threw up more web to prevent the globe from being
closed this turn.
Turn #2 will start with the Neos at range 8 but with a web of their own
casting between themselves and the defending force. The cast web will go
down halfway through the turn. The Defenders have 4 hexes out of 6 hexes
completed on their firebreak. Disruptors were not discharged over the
turn break, so the concern about a waiting disruptor death were
unfounded this time.
How are the Neos going to remove this troublesome base and it's stubburn
defenders? using the Highway of Web technique is not going to help crack
this base. Tomorrow the game continues, ~6pm Pacific time. We will see then.
