 Matt,
First I'm still not able to save winners for my non auto resolved scenarios so can't advance the turn regardless.
Second, I'm not understanding how you calculated the BPVs in the scenario.  In particular I think I have the advantage not him.  Perhaps you used his whole fleet which is illegal since there's a 1.5 total move cost max?  Otherwise what am I missing?
For my side I have:    CVE w/ 8FSFs     = 178
    DEA-sab w/ INTs = 154
    SC                       = 90
    3 F-S                   = 36
-------------------------------------        TOTAL              = 458

He has:    SEC                     = 80
    SKA-sab              = 104
    SPA-sab w/ CEN = 219
------------------------------------------        TOTAL             = 403

I suspect our scenario will take a long time since we are reasonably evenly matched and the freighters max speed is 12/13 and can only disengage by separation.  It will likely be a bit of cat and mouse given we both have plasma.  So playing this out could be awhile.  I'm not understanding how the auto resolve works.  Clearly I don't want to lose my fleet only to avoid a 100 net EP loss.  Could you give me more details please?

He might complain, since you out-BPV him by a 4:5 margin. The "Auto 
System" will favor the guy with the most BPV (Since BPV measures one's 
combat ability, it only stands to reason.)

Speaking provisionally (there is a certain amount of randomness in the 
system), It looks like it'll go about 16 SFB-turns for total-destruction 
of the ISC fleet. However, the Rom is likely to come away with only the 
SEC and the SPA in that case. If merely going until the freighters are 
dead, you're looking at about 10 turns. The small Romulans are dead or 
crippled and the ISC scout is dead.
