But as Marcel mentioned...hit them in a real fashion that does not cripple you to do so. Severe penalties for not winning defense situations. Which is what actually happens in War...you cannot cut a path into the enemy as they cut a path into you....passing in the night. You have to hold ground to win. And expand. Making it where someone you are fighting loses a border just means everyone lost for a benefit of? Nothing. And a permanent lose of income with no way to get it back if ever.

I would have rather seen more scenarios with a big negative EP instead for the defender and a good positive EP for the attacker. More like:


Defender's reward for successful defense: EP40
Defender's penalty for unsuccessful defense: EP-80
Attacker's reward for an unsuccessful defense: EP80

That would force some combat for those EP. You either defending it well or it might hurt you and as an attacker, gaining 80 EP while technicaly removing 120 EP from the defender is a good options.
This would hurt/benefit EP's without the penalities of closing border (where you both hurt the enemy and yoursefl)

Border/no Border is not the proper way to go i think.

One of the things being talked about was a more definite victory condition. The More no border penalties is a way of closing off the other players borders. To end a game faster. Again however closing borders closes yours as well.. perhaps a close border and open new border scenario. Thus You close some ones and get a new one?
