As I may have mentioned earlier, I'd be up for a new start. My only request would be to have it in Y180 or later. I'd like to play with the sabot plasmas... 😊

I have no preference on whether a new game is started or not.

I’m not for any fix that would arbitrarily force players to fight as that isn’t the issue of the static circumstances the campaign is in.

If we wish to fix it the only plausible solution is to limit treaties, though I suspect that will be done anyways due to the issues it caused.

That’s my two cents.

I think the answer is we need to start a new game. And...we need some adjustment to the rules. To make combat more required or at least make there be some penalty for sending ships and just running away if you are not severely outgunned. Its one thing to have half his BPV. Its another to face...50 to 100 point difference and just run.

Anyway. Just need some modifications and this should make the game better. Maybe even make it where you cannot have more than 1 or two treaties. Based on simple reality. Obviously this would require the honor system. But realistically...if we always see no fights. And each side always gets their defend sites. Well that says something. We are ending up with just building bigger and bigger fleets that never get to fight. Pretty much a waste at this point since even with a monster fleet. If you are 100 points down the fight ends before it begins.

I've enjoyed this campaign a lot and learned so much about the game through it. But I too look at my borders and conclude that it is now a game of long, allied borders generating floods of BPV from defense-only bidding, or engagements with fleets too giant for me to effectively play (especially as drone-heavy Kzinti). I am ready to end my participation and say good game.

I understand that this condition is the result of my choices to make many alliances and few enemies. Of course, my choices were influenced by having adversaries who also had large alliances and could thereby concentrate heavy fleets against me.

I will withdraw from all contested border engagements, of which there is now only one or two. It's been fantastic playing with you, and I wish you all well!

For my two cents, I'm ready to start a new campaign. My borders and fleets are so big, I somehow forgot to deploy most of my capitol ships. With the majority of my cruisers and DNs in dock, I'll have to forfeit most of my scenarios this round.

More details to follow...

Officially, you win by knocking everyone else out of the campaign
(through NOBORDER rewards.) In a practical sense, you win by being one
of the guys still standing whenever the game comes to a close.

Indeed I do. There's half a dozen scenarios in the mix that someone else
made.
