Rear Admiral Hogan slumped in his chair thinking of retirement.  20 minutes previously, he had his ass handed to him by Starfleet Command for his culmulative lack of success in this neck of the woods.  His Chief of Staff buzzed the intercom "Sir, I have the upcoming assignments for the Squadron for your purview."
"Come," Hogan replied to the Captain.
"No, this won't really do.  How many ships do we have Captain?"  "Eight," he replied.  "Right.  And two of those eight are sitting in drydock.  The Dreadnought USS Federation is undergoing a refit, and so is the New Light Cruiser USS Greenville, after spending the previous tour in drydock after nearly being destroyed.  So we actually have six ships to allocate among the various borders."
"I thought that perhaps having a token presence among all the different borders would be better than nothing," the Captain said.
"You may as well send shuttlecraft to aly along the borders for all the good you will be doing, Captian.  Look here on the Kzinti border we have a very high Treaty Colony to set up.  Now, this border is quiet and we can get away with sending a couple of Frigates.  But the other high value request is on the Klingon Border, defending a different colony.  You know the Deep Space Fleet outmatches ours and, for some reason sends EVERYTHING they have to EVERY fracking encounter with us.  We will have to send everything else not in drydock to that sector.  What is left, Captain?"
"Sir, the Commando Light Cruiser USS Patton, the Scout USS Lewis, the Light Carrier USS Potomac and the Escort Cruiser USS Consort."
"That's it?!" the Admiral inquired, "Yes sir, however if the Klingons don't send an overwhelming force, we can hold the planet with the bording parties and combat vehicles from the Patton."
"Ok, make it so."

------------------------------------------------
Gorn Border
Base Defense 904 - Our allies are entitled to place their bases wherever they wish within their sovereign territory.
Banshees 905 - Our base in that sector received a warning of possible Banshees in the area, but it must have been a case of mistaken identity.
Base Defense 906 - The Gorn are always invited for rest and relaxation at our base.  They enjoyed the Cinco de Mayo festivities and returned to their ships with several cases of Tequilla.
Terrain Defense with Ground Combat 907 - Our allies are entitled to enjoy thier planets however they wish within their sovereign territory.

Jindarian Border
Convoy Raid 952 - This was a low value convoy.  Too low value to escort, given more pressing needs elsewhere.  Apparently too low value to attack as well.

Tholian Border
Conoy Raid 958 - This was a low value convoy.  Too low value to escort, given more pressing needs elsewhere.  Apparently too low value to attack as well.

Klingon Border
Colony Raid 963 - The special sensors on the USS Lewis and the USS Potomac detected an OVERWHELMING KLINGON FORCE in sufficient time to skedaddle.
Facing the scratch task force of Federation ships, (a CVL, an NEA, a CMC and a Scout), the Klingons bravely dispatched a C9A Dreadnought, a Battle Tug, a D6 Mauler, a D5S Scout, F5GB Commando Figate, and an F5K Frigate.  What were the poor little Klingons afraid of?
We evacuated our assets and colonists in sufficient time.
Hostages 964 - We didn't have the assets to address this situation.  However, the Klingons bravely deployed a C8K Dreadnought (?!), a D5A Stasis Cruiser, an E4V Carrier, an E4E Escort and topped it off with a G2 Gunboat.  The Klingons are definitely acting as though they are terrified of something in this sector...

Kzinti Border
Moray Eel of Space 965 - Though we received reports of a Moray Eel, this proved to be spurious.
Organian Treaty Colony 966 - The 2 Frigates we deployed reported all quiet.  Hey, 120 points somewhere other than the Klingon border is a rarity.  That's a major reason why I have fewer ships than the rest of you.  ;o)
Space Dragon 967 - Never happened.
Moral Eel of Space 968 - Though we received reports of a Moray Eel, this proved to be spurious.

Romulan Border
Refugee Flight 969 - We saw no refugees nor any other traffic on this part of the border.
Colony Raid 970 - We have no reason to raid a sovereign Romulan colony.

Base Defense 971 - There was no Romulan Traffic on this part of the border.
Cargo Tug 972 - We have no reason to cross the border and raid a Tug or anything else.
