Dramatic SFB: Rule regarding disengagement

One thing Matt left out is that players are always able to disengage via diplomacy.  Sometimes the opposing player may be persuaded to disengage, or allow you to disengage in exchange for some sort of agreement. 
Also  to Roch specifically,  how do you keep placing your messages into the subject line ? This confuses me ...
