Dramatic SFB: War of attrition Tholians

 I have noticed that the Tholians empire are now only the Tholian Intelligence outpost, CCH.
What was it that removed the Tholians, an unknown Seltorian battle fleet, a huge space monster or Is this some other strange phenomenon that will happen to other empires.
