I'd feel safe too. But the campaign is using Module J, so that loophole 
is closed. Sorry man. You are stuck with (S8.31): /CARRIERS must have 
the escorts and fighters specified in their ship descriptions for the 
scenario date [superceeded by (S8.315)].


/As a side note, G-7s have been specifically allowed 
<http://sfbdrama.mattnet.org/docs/rules.html#available%20empires> in the 
campaign (see Gorn.)
